Melomaru Chain Battle
About This Game
Stack appful's Melomaru in pairs and battle! Connect 4 of the same color to clear them. Chain clears to send gray Sleepyhead blockers to your opponent's field. Play online 1-on-1 or vs. the CPU.
A head-to-head puzzle on a field 6 columns wide and 12 rows tall. Each match lasts 2–3 minutes. You can see your opponent's field next to yours, so you can watch how they stack. The fun is deciding on the spot: clear quickly and send a few blockers at a time, or build a big chain and send them all at once.
Every 70 points sends 1 blocker. If you clear before your opponent's blockers drop, you cancel them out. Clear every Meromaru on your field for an "All Clear," and your next clear sends 30 more blockers. Build a chain of 6 or more to start Fever Time, when the effects get flashier for a while.
There are three CPU levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. In online 1-on-1, if no opponent is found after 15 seconds, you play against the CPU. You can play the CPU right away, even if you're not logged in. If you're new, we'll show you on screen how to clear and what makes you lose during your first 3 matches. You can also play with a keyboard.
Only online matches count toward your wins. Your wins go into the "This Month's Wins" ranking. As your wins this month grow, you move up through 6 ranks, from "Tiny" to "King." Your biggest chain so far is saved in your records too.
How to play
Swipe the field left or right to move Melomaru, and tap to rotate. You can also play on the lower screen: swipe the left side to move; on the right side, tap the top to rotate left, the bottom to rotate right. Connect 4 of the same color to clear them. Clears that set off new matches make a chain and send Sleepyhead blockers to your opponent. Stack up to the X in the third column and you lose.
Tips
- Line up Meromaru in groups of 3 of the same color and wait. It makes chains easier to build.
- When a blocker warning appears, clear before they drop. You can cancel out what was sent.
- Blockers disappear when Meromaru next to them are cleared.
- The 3rd column from the left is the one where stacking to the top makes you lose. Keep it low.
- Press the ↑ key, or flick up on the controls, to drop Meromaru right away.
